ELOのスペース・ロック・ドリームが繰り広げられる、LPでは2枚組で発表された77年の最高傑作。今作には、ジェフ・リンがピークを迎えた時期に書かれポップでゴージャスな、どれをとってもシングルに相応しい曲が並んでます。又、ストリングスを大胆に組み込み多彩なバリエーションにより、アレンジの素晴らしさも聴き所。全米で13位を記録した「ターン・トゥ・ストーン」、17位の「スウィート・トーキン・ウーマン」、 35位の「ミスター・ブルー・スカイ」、75位の「哀愁の果て」といったシングルヒットは、このアルバムのチャートを最高4位にまで押し上げた。

このアルバムは、私が高校生のとき買った。

異論はあるかもしれないが、私にとっては、E.L.Oのアルバムの中では一番だ。


ちょっと話がずれるが、

十数年前、パフィーがデビューしたとき、「このアレンジ、E.L.Oのパクリだぞ」って思った。

それから数年がたち、E.L.O.の久方ぶりのアルバムが出たとき、そのジャケットの中を見て確信した。

やっぱり、パクッてたなって（笑

奥田なんとかが、「ファンです」だって


あーた、そこまでアレンジ似させちゃーいけません。
